Traxxas Rally VXL Racer

To add to its 1/16 scale VXL line-up, Traxxas has added the Rally VXL Racer, coming in October! Just like the 1/16 E-Revo and Slash, the Rally comes with a 6-cell 7.2V NiMh battery that allows it to race up to 30mph straight out of the box. If you want to hit those higher speeds, get a second battery and speed pinion gear and hit up to 50mph! To take advantage of those dual batteries, you can also purchase the Series Y-harness to get either higher voltage and thus higher speeds or the Parallel Y-harness to get more battery capacity and thus longer runtimes.

That incredible speed is courtesy of the Velineon 380 brushless motor and speed control. Designed by Traxxas specifically for the 1/16 scale versions, the Velineon system still includes the same incredible specs found in the VXL 1/10 scale models. The Velineon system also includes three modes: Sport Mode, Race Mode, and Training Mode. Training Mode allows you to practice at 50% throttle for both forward and reverse. Once you are confident in your ability to control this smooth machine, simply press the EZ-Set button and you get full brushless power.

The Rally comes with TQ radio system, glued-on tires, painted and decaled body, installed Velineon brushless-motor system, and the 7.2V NiMh battery with Traxxas' High Current Connector and charger.

Although the MegaPro can go up to 20mph straight out of the box with the stock brushed motor, you might want even more speed. MegaPro Power Options

Megatech's MegaPro buggies and trucks (formerly known as ProPulse) have two battery power options available. The first is a 7.2V 1200MHz NiMh battery pack; the second is a 7.2V 1400MHz NiMh battery pack. The second option will give you a few more minutes of run-time than the first battery. Typical 7.2V stickpack battery packs used for other r/c cars don't work with the MegaPros because the battery compartment requires a unique two-part cell configuration.

Either one of these battery packs can be charged by an 120V AC wall charger or by a 7.2V DC Fast Charger. The AC wall charger takes about 10 hours to charge the 1200mAh battery pack, while the 7.2V DC FastCharger only takes approximately 40 minutes to charge the same battery. However, the first few times the battery is charged we would recommend using the wall charger because it will fully charge the battery gently. Do make sure you time the charging time because the wall charger is a timed charger, not a peak charger. The battery should be slightly warm to the touch when it is fully charged and then let it cool before inserting it into the truck or buggy. The Fast Charger is a peak charger that lights a green light when charging and changes to a red light when finished charging.
